Fountain Sunny Side Market

Sunny Side Market is a network of local food pantries owned and operated by Care and Share Food Bank. All the food we provide is free of charge and served in a warm, dignified, and respectful shopping experience. While volunteering at Sunny Side Market, you will have the opportunity to support other's access to healthy groceries in several ways.

 

The stocking shift includes stocking the market with food items and cleaning. Gleaning of produce or donated food may be part of the work.

 

The shopping shift includes assisting shoppers while they are at the market. You may answer questions about the products, help fill bags, check-out, and carry groceries to vehicles.

 

All volunteers are expected to maintain a highly positive customer experience for the shoppers and fellow volunteers.

 

These are physically demanding shifts and may include lifting weight up to 40 lbs.

 

This volunteer opportunity is for ages 14 and up.

 

As a volunteer, you are an essential part of our team! You will ensure we are fully stocked and ready to open our market doors to those in need. You could also be asked to sort produce, pack boxes, sanitize stations, help load vehicles with groceries, and welcome and assist neighbors visiting the market.

 

IMPORTANT: Due to food safety and OSHA safety, closed toed shoes are required when volunteering at Sunny Side Market. After you sign in, please wash your hands. Wash whenever needed throughout your shift, such as after using the bathroom, touching your face or hair, eating or drinking, or handling trash.
