|
Description:
This volunteer opportunity is solely for students currently living in a Concordia Residence. As students get ready to move out of the Residence room, you may not be able to take everything with you to your next home. But that doesn't mean all those items should go to waste! The Concordia University Centre for Creative Reuse (CUCCR) and the Sustainability Volunteer Program work with Residence to give your pre-loved items new life.
Donate your clothing, cleaning items, accessories, home decor, and more to the Reclaimathon! Each year we rescue about 2-3 tonnes of waste from ending up in the landfill by finding your materials a second home. Donation stations will be available at each residence location for students to donate clean items. Please give everything a wash before you donate it. Lightly used materials are either redistribute through CUCCR, kept in the building for future students, or donated to local shelters.
We need your help sorting and donating items! Main volunteer responsibilities include:
You will enjoy volunteering here if: you want to make an impact on preventing unnecessary waste and want to meet likeminded students. Volunteers are welcome to take away any donated items that they want, after completing 2 hours of volunteering. Students who commit ten hours in total will receive recognition on their Co-Curricular Record.
