Pantry Volunteer
The population served is residents of Catholic Charities properties, clients of Catholic Charities, and people from the Richmond and Creston-Kenilworth neighborhoods. We primarily serve food insecure clients including refugees, immigrants, women, and children, low-income housing residents, and people experiencing homelessness. As a Food Pantry Associate, you will play an important role in addressing food insecurity and ensuring that everyone has access to healthy food.
Arrive: 8:30 am-12pm and/or 3-5pm
Meeting Location: Esperanza Court Apartments (3611 SE 28th Ave). The main entrance will most likely be locked, so text/call Sarah Joan at 971-645-0293 when you arrive.
Duties: A: Transferring food from vehicles and bringing into building (morning) B: Sort and store the food (morning) C: Help staff the food pantry (afternoon) (i.e., restock fridges/freezers as needed, clean up messes, assist with crowd control in the lobby, etc.)
Requirements: Able to stand for 2 hours Able to bend over/squat Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Follow all health and safety protocols established by Catholic Charities.
Trainings: All food pantry volunteers must complete the following Oregon Food Bank trainings:
