Opportunity Details | Volunteer Peer Leader

Self-Management BC, supported by the Province of British Columbia, offers FREE health education programs for adults of all ages with one more ongoing health conditions. Programs are offered in person, virtually, online, by telephone, or by mail for adults living in BC.

 

Volunteer Leaders deliver health education programs either virtually or in-person, using an evidence-based scripted program, 2.5 hours once per week for 6 weeks. Volunteer leaders facilitate in pairs and Self-Management BC provides all the program materials required for a workshop. As well, we provide ongoing support to our volunteers and offer other educational opportunities through webinars.

 

Upon completion of the leader training, we do request that a volunteer be available to lead at least one, if not two, 6 week workshops in the following year.
