Opportunity Name:
South ReStore

Description:

Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live! Material donations are not used in Habitat-built homes. Instead, our ReStore sells materials at a low-cost to the public. Proceeds generated by the ReStore are re-invested by Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity to fund new homes for qualifying families in El Paso County.

Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of ways from on the sales floor, back in our receiving/donation area, and more!

**All court ordered volunteers must provide their timesheets and contact Dusty direct at 719-213-5655.

Important Information:

  • Volunteers must be aged 12. All volunteers aged 12-15 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • Volunteers aged 12 - 17 MUST bring a paper liability waiver signed by a parent/guardian. This form can be found on the Volunteer webpage.
  • All volunteers MUST wear close-toe/full coverage shoes (sneakers or boots)
  • Participants must wear pants or long shirts and sleeved shirts (does not have to be long-sleeves, but no tank tops or shirts with the sleeves removed). We also request that you don't wear any unnecessary jewelry as such items can get damaged or lost.
  • Please watch the recommended safety training video in the confirmation email.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and gloves

Background / Sex Offender Registry Check Policy for Key Volunteers

A Key Volunteer is defined as (1) any volunteer, who, through Habitat programming, has consistent and direct contact with vulnerable populations; or (2) repeat volunteers who consistently volunteer for more than 8 hours per month after 3 consistent months.

  • This policy does not apply to single time volunteers at this location, for example, those participating in a volunteer group.
  • If you are a new volunteer who starts on or after July 1, 2023, you will be subject to this policy if you meet the requirements of a key volunteer. If you qualify as a Key Volunteer and refuse the background / sex offender checks, you will not be able to continue to volunteer.
  • You can review the Criminal Background/Sex Offender Registry Check Policy here: https://www.cervistech.com/acts/file/systemfileopen.php?org_id=0364&file_id=8&t=3f55066038b84c8ca4c6e09a76bd7b81

Safeguarding Policy

Habitat for Humanity is committed to supporting a respectful and ethical workplace, safeguarding the rights of those we serve, and properly stewarding our donors’ funds and resources. In service to that commitment, and in accordance with its foundational mission principles, Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity opposes any form of discrimination, harassment, exploitation and abuse. This 10-minute video explains the meaning of "safeguarding" and what our commitment to safeguarding means for volunteers as Habitat representatives.
