Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Event Listing & Registration

First time volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina?  You will need to complete your profile first before scheduling any volunteer time. Cervis allows you to register as an individual or for your group(s).  A person may have more than one group such as a work group and perhaps a church group. This allows you to a specific # of spots for your groups. Please read below for instructions for Families and Groups.

• Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the box  "Sign In"
  
  
• Type in your email address and first name.

If you do not have a profile, the system will ask you to complete your profile.  Complete form and submit. 

Individuals & Families – Please do not sign up as a group. Complete your individual profile first.  Next click  "add an individual to my profile"  Once all of your family members are on your profile, you can schedule those that will be volunteering with you. Please remember that 1 slot = 1 person so be sure to schedule each person. The system will track the volunteer hours for each member in your family.  Once you are registered for a date/shift you will get a confirmation.  The email will have a link to cancel if needed or you can easily sign into the system and click on "View or Cancel registration"  The system does track no shows. If a students name is not in our system, I will not be able to verify student hours for school or an organization. Please note that we are a working warehouse with fast moving equipment - please read our min. age requirements for each project.  

GROUPS – (Groups are considered 5 or more and are a company, church, organization.  Not a family group.)

• To setup your group:  The group leader must first complete the individual volunteer profile. 
  
  
• Once your profile is setup, you will need to click on "Create A New Group" under the Profile Management Heading.
  
  
• Follow Instructions to create group
  
  
• The next page will show your group name in step 1 and step 2 will be flashing.  Select an Event by clicking on the circle of one of our opportunities such as "Weekday Tues-Friday Inspect/Sort Age 17 and up. (you can see details of each by clicking on to the right "view event details).
  
  
• Once you select an event, a box will pop up asking how many are in your group, type in and click on Register Group.
  
  
• A list of available dates/times will generate for you to chose from. 

A confirmation and reminder email will be sent.  A group confirmation will have the group name and # of participants.   If it only has your name on the confirmation, you scheduled as an individual and not as a group.  Kindly email me and I can update for you.

If you previously setup your group, no need to setup again. 

• Log into the calendar, in Step 1, click on the drop down arrow and select your group under the Group Heading.   
  
  
• Select an event and a box will pop up asking how many volunteers are in your group.  Type in the number of volunteers including yourself and click on "Register".
  
  
• Dates/Times will generate for you to chose from.
  
  
• Be sure to confirm your group count two weeks before your scheduled date to me: bvandyne@secondharvestmetrolina.org

Court-Ordered – includes Pre-Trial or Suggested by Lawyer - Shift is marked “Court Ordered”.  The shifts are Monday thru Friday 8am – 12noon and Monday thru Thursday 1pm - 4pm. Please read our section on Court Ordered CS on our website as not all charges are accepted here.  Please email the Volunteer Coordinator BEFORE you sign-up.
