In Home English Companion - Assist with Digital Literacy

Position Description:

Do you enjoy helping others?

Are you comfortable using a computer?

We need a wonderful volunteer to help a refugee client with basic computer/phone skills. Assist with navigating Zoom ESL online class via client’s personal phone or computer. Practice with client the English learned in the Zoom ESL classes. Accompany client on public transportation trips, so client can learn to navigate google maps and track where to start and stop trips. 

 

Work Environment:

This will take place in the client’s home, on the bus or MAX.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

·        Help with computer/phone work

·        Logging into zoom ESL online class

·        Practice spoken English

·        Teach google maps for public transport

 

 

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18

• Completed Catholic Charities Volunteer Background Check

• Refugee Volunteer Training
