Registration for this project is not open for self-registration. Please contact the project organizer listed below for assistance with registration for this project.

Project Description:

Each month, Harvesters distributes nearly 5,000 CSFP food boxes to food insecure seniors. These boxes include shelf stable items like cereal, pasta, canned vegetables, and juices. Please help us share an upbeat messages in each one of these boxes. You can scrapbook or decorate a card and include a handwritten, up-beat message. Any quantity of cards will gladly be accepted. This is a great project for individuals or groups (faith-based, schools, service organization, etc.). One hour of service will be given for every 10 handmade cards completed. Please note if cards are purchased and not handmade, volunteer hours will be credited at the discretion of Harvesters' staff. Service hours are only credited for non-legal purposes and limited to 8 hours (80 cards) per month.

In order to receive service hours, cards must meet the following guidelines.

  • Please be sure to include positive messages.
  • Let them know you are thinking about them.
  • Phrases like “Happy Holidays” , "Happy Valentine's Day", "Hopping into Spring", and "Summer Fun" are fine but need to be seasonally appropriate. Food puns and generic messages are greatly appreciated.
  • Please write legibly and spend time working on each card.

Please Don't:

  • Please do not include any messages that are proselytizing, specific religious references (ex: God bless you, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, etc.), and/or religious pictures.
  • Please do not include political messages.
  • Please do not include messages that advertise.
  • Please do not include gifts (such as food or money) with your message.
  • Please do not photocopy handwritten cards.
  • Please do not use envelopes as all messages must be reviewed by staff prior to distribution.

Cards can be dropped off or mailed to:
