Citizen Science


Project Description:

As a volunteer citizen scientist, you are helping us maintain and preserve the natural areas across our 17 parks & greenways through your own unique skill set. Utilizing state-wide to international citizen science platforms, we offer the following citizen science volunteer opportunities: 

  • Bird monitor
  • Invasive species monitor

We are working toward adding wildflower/native plant monitors, water quality monitors, and bluebird monitors. Be on the lookout as more opportunities develop!

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 hrs/month to maintain monitor status
  • Base knowledge of subject matter
  • Ability to report findings either through citizen science smartphone program or paper
