OFF-SITE - Pack Holiday Meal Boxes

Harvesters’ network of community food pantries is working to bring joy to hungry families this holiday season by providing the comforts and trimmings of a holiday meal, but we can’t reach as many people without help from supporters like YOU.

 

How It Works

The Holiday Meal Box program has two components: a food or fund drive followed by a volunteer activity.

 

Food/Fund Drive:

Each holiday meal box needs to include all of the items listed below. Collecting items in bulk or asking several volunteers to purchase food in bulk after collecting monetary donations works very well for this drive.

Each kit provides all the necessary ingredients for holiday side dish favorites to feed one hunger-insecure family for the holidays.

Holiday meal boxes include:

1 6oz box Stuffing Mix

1 15oz Can Sweet Potatoes

1 14oz Can Cranberry Sauce

1 15.25oz Can Corn

2 14.5oz Cans Green Beans

1 .87oz Package Gravy Mix

1 8.5oz Corn Bread Mix

1 6.6oz box Instant Mashed Potatoes

1 10.5oz Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

 

Volunteer Activity:

At the end of your food drive, coordinate a date with our Community Engagement team for you to come by and pick up the boxes and labels you'll need to complete the holiday meal boxes. Then pack the individual boxes for easy transport back to our facility for distribution.

 

This project is worth 1 service hour for each packed holiday meal box. (Court-ordered community service does not qualify for this opportunity).
