Morikami Museum


Project Description:

Morikami’s volunteer program enables volunteers to aide in the museum’s daily operations.  Volunteers can help weekly or just during special events, such as festivals.

Festival applications can be found on our website,

Weekly positions include: museum greeters, museum store, library, bonsai area, collections and museum docents.

Each position has a certain amount and level of training that is dependant on that particular area.  Interviews and background checks are required.


Minimum Age requirement:  14 years old and older. Children’s 12 and above can volunteer at a festival accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years and older


**This site doesn't provide court ordered volunteer hours.


Morikami Museum is in need of volunteers for our biggest and most fun festival of the year, Hatsume Fair held April 6 & 7. Celebrating the first bud of spring, Morikami’s largest annual event, Hatsume Fair, transforms the normally tranquil Morikami Park into a unique Japanese spring festival featuring two stages (with taiko drumming, martial arts demos, and our annual costume and fashion show contest), avenues of artisan booths, plant sales, Japanese street fair food vendors and children’s activities.

  • Enjoy martial arts demonstrations and taiko drumming shows
  • Experience Japanese games and activities, including Cosplay and fashion contests
  • Peruse avenues of artisan, craft and plant vendors
  • Taste Japanese street fair food vendors
