Project Description: University City Library is seeking a volunteer to assist with checking in and shelving items from morning delivery bins.  

  

Responsibilities: Assist with processing, organizing and shelving delivered materials on hold for patrons. This role takes place in a busy work space prone to noise and involves constant movement. 

   

Qualifications: Be at least 18 years old, have good vision and ability to get along well with others, and to communicate pleasantly and effectively with patrons and library staff.  

  

Knowledge: Ability to understand and follow directions. Accuracy, patience and tolerance for meticulous work.  

  

Requirements: Neat appearance. Ability to lift, push, and pull books from one shelf to another. Ability to stoop and stand for short periods of time. Ability to exert 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. You work at a pace that fits your ability. Reasonable accommodations will be made. 

 Training: Training is provided. 

  

Hours: Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 9:00am until approximately 11:00am (when task is completed). Six month minimum commitment.
