Red Shield Kids Club Tutor

Project Description:

We are looking for volunteers to help with homework and tutor the kids in our After School Program. We work with at-risk children from one of the poorest neighborhoods in Nashville, and great mentors are always needed!

This is a weekday program where volunteers will help with arts and crafts, tutoring, and sports and games. The after-school program runs from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, during the school year.

In order to gain children’s trust, an individual must be in their life consistently and to be a positive force. To work with these children and to get positive reactions, this job requires a weekly commitment of at least 1 hour on a consistent day.

Training and Orientation Required:
- A background check conducted by The Salvation Army

- Completion of Safe from Harm training class
