Opportunity Name:
Gardening/Pruning at Freneau Woods Park 454

Description:

(Ages 18 & up)

FRIDAYS from 9:00am - 12:00pm.  Registration required.

Start date for 2024: Friday, March 15

Join the Gardening/Pruning Team at Freneau Woods Park.  Volunteers are needed weekly to tend the pollinator garden, prune trees and shrubs, and remove invasive plants from landscaped areas. This is not a drop-in program but a regularly meeting team.

Volunteer tee shirts and name tags will be provided. Please bring work gloves, hand tools, and water.

Located along the headwaters of Matawan Creek and Lake Lefferts, this 311-acre park is comprised mostly of woodland which protects critical wildlife habitat and bolsters water quality in the region. Both historically and environmentally significant, the park provides open space in a densely populated area of the county.  We thank members of the Freehold Interact Club of the Freehold Rotary Club for installing the pollinator garden in 2021.
