Represent Richland Library at library programs and activities

Key Responsibilities
|
- Assist staff with library programs and events, including greeting and providing support during the event (author events, programs and partnerships events and activities, receptions, etc.)
|
Impact/Goal
|
Assist Richland Library staff in hosting special programs and events. Help the community enjoy the diverse opportunities offered by the library.
|
Qualifications
|
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Passionate and enthusiastic about the Richland Library and its mission “to help our customers learn, create and share”
- Able to perform position functions which may include continuous standing, lifting, carrying and pushing of items
- Able to perform basic math
- An avid library user who takes advantage of library services, such as checking out items, placing materials on hold, and attending library programs
- Welcoming, caring, helpful, fresh and fun, and committed to offering library customers the very best
- Able to communicate pleasantly and effectively with customers and staff
- Willing to learn more about library resources, services and initiatives
- Able to interact and make connection with diverse groups of people

Time Commitment
|
Flexible event typically happens in evening hours or on weekends
|
Training/Support
|
· Participate in the Richland Library Volunteer Orientation (mission, purpose, volunteer program, policies and procedures)
· Participate in an Orientation to the library/department location
· Training from library staff in order to be a successful Community Outreach Project Volunteer
· Ongoing support provided by the coordinator of volunteers or other identified staff
