Reports to: Library Staff

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Richland Library hosts an abundances of events and activities and sometimes help is needed! Gallery openings, author events, Wednesday Markets, Over Do, Learn Freely, etc. Main special event project volunteers will be emailed when an event that would benefit form a volunteers help/ If you are able to help, please respond!

  •           Assist staff with library programs and events, including but not limited to preparation.  set-up,  greeting, signing in, providing support and break down
  •         - Assist customers with event activities

 

Impact/Goal: Increase library customer experience through innovative programing and activities.

 

Qualifications: 

·        - Passionate and enthusiastic about Richland Library.

·        - Desire to work with members of our community who need technical skills    training.

·         - Ability to understand and follow directions

·         - Able to perform position function that may include standing, lifting,       carrying and pushing of items.

·         -Some previous customer service or related experience in an employment   or volunteer setting is preferred.

·         - Comfortable with initiating assistance with diverse people.

·         - To display appropriate behavior and dress for my volunteer position

·         Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

 

Time Commitment:  Flexible, volunteers will be contacted as opportunities arise with time and length of service details.

  

Training/Support:  

·        - Participate in the Richland Library Volunteer Orientation (mission,   purpose, volunteer program, policies and procedures)      

·        - General orientation on common customer help needs and downloadable   materials in order to be a successful computer drop-in helper      

·         - Ongoing support provided by the library staff coordinating computer   basics classes and Richland Library’s volunteer coordinator
