Service Project Details

Pick fruit and or vegetables with other volunteers.

Location address varies. It will be provided by your lead gleaner.

Volunteers/gleaners meet between 8:00a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at designated meeting site where produce is to be picked for the day checking in with Lead Gleaner.

Pick variety of fruit and produce into 5 gallon bucket which is emptied into bin on Food Share truck at site.

Duration of picking session is generally 1-2 hours

Appropriate suggested attire for this activity would be: sturdy shoes, long pants, long sleeved shirt, sweat shirt, assortment of gloves, hat or visor, sunscreen and name badge as provided by Food Share.

Able to do physical labor in changing outdoor weather conditions

Should enjoy working out of doors in fields and orchards

Adhere to Food Share safety procedures and policies as outlined in the Volunteer Handbook and specific procedures pertaining to the Gleaners, as outlined by the Gleaning Supervisor.
