Police Communication Officer Internship Spring 2022

Project Description:

The Gwinnett County Police Department is now accepting internships for the 2022 spring semester.  This is an ideal unpaid internship opportunity for students pursuing an educational observation of the daily duties of a 911 DISPATCHER/ COMMUNICATION OFFICER.  Selected candidates will experience first-hand knowledge about the roles of a 911 dispatcher.

Interns will observe 911 dispatchers handling calls for service throughout Gwinnett County.  The intern will be educated on how our 911 dispatchers handle calls for police, fire, and EMS. Interns will report to the GCPD intern coordinator once a month to go over what they have observed by providing summary reports on their experience.
