Are You Interested in Learning More about Becoming a G.R.E.A.T. Minds Steward?

 

The G.R.E.A.T (Gwinnett Reading Exchange & Art Transforms) Minds is a network of book exchanges located throughout Gwinnett. Book exchanges serve to increase access to literacy and foster an appreciation for local art.

 

Responsibilities of a G.R.E.A.T. Minds Steward include:

• A commitment to routinely visit the adopted G.R.E.A.T. Minds Book Exchange site
•  Stewards report any damages or concerns to the Department of Community Services – to include a need for more books, a need for repairs, report vandalism or graffiti, and replacement, etc.
• Notify the Department of Community Services staff should you move or need to update your contact information.
• Ensure that the book exchange is orderly and has plenty of age-appropriate books and encourage contributions of age-appropriate books from others.

Building Brains (B2) Anywhere receives book donations that are redirected to stewards to aid in the supply of books for respective book exchanges.

 

Volunteer G.R.E.A.T. Minds Stewards must be ages 18 and up; however, opportunities for those 16-18 years of age are available to restock and sort books with adult supervision.

 

All Gwinnett County volunteers are required to agree and complete the WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE form.
