Opportunity Name:
Nature Camp Volunteers! Frogs 6/10-6/14 (morning)

Description:

Help our summer nature campers discover nature!

We’re looking for volunteer help with nature camps for children starting first grade this fall. Camp runs June 10 - 14 (Mon-Fri), 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. each day at McFarland Park.

Volunteers can expect to assist naturalists in a number of ways during camp:

·         help with crafts, games, snack time

·         catch insects in the prairie

·         clean-up at end of camp

·         provide extra adult eyes while exploring outside

·         have fun exploring nature!

Arrive at Conservation Center at McFarland Park at 8:45 a.m. on first day of camp for brief “orientation” with our naturalists. (56461 180th Street, Ames, IA)

We ask campers to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, so it would be great if the volunteers would model that too. We’d recommend wearing sunscreen and bringing bug spray, full water bottle, hat, sun glasses, etc.

*Must complete a background check

*Parents are NOT allowed to volunteer for their child’s camp.

Please contact Community Engagement Coordinator Madi Nolte at 515.598.4761 with any questions.
