Description:

Help serve first responders, their families, and the community during times of emotional turmoil by rendering ethical and moral support, encouragement, and other assistance needs!

 

Requirements:

  • Submit to a background check including criminal history, driving history, and fingerprinting
  • Ordained and/or a licensed member of the clergy of their own religious organization for at least two years
  • Engaged in ministry as a principal vocation for a minimum of two years
  • Endorsed by their religious organization and remains in good standing
  • Possesses good moral character, a broad base of experience, emotionally stability, and excellent communication skills

A 16-hour "Basic Fire Chaplain" course will be made available through Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. 

 

Chaplains work in a variety of environments, including inclement weather, and will serve on an on-call rotation. Business casual dress will be appropriate in most settings.
