Service Project Details

YWCA Family Activity program at Family Village Issaquah works with families with children between the ages of 5-17 years of age to provide fun and engaging activities. Volunteers will help in the planning an execution of activities in the Commons, provide support to the Youth and Family Navigator, and contribute to fun!

Activities typically run in the early evenings Mon-Fri, typically 6:00-8:00pm, but times may vary, and include board games, Bingo, reading, art, homework help and more.

You will:

Assist in planning, set up, clean up, and provide support during activities
Ensure facility rules are being followed by participant

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older
Cultural competency a must
Experience working with children
Ability to give clear directions
Clear sense of boundaries
Engaging and outgoing personality
Patience
Ability to explain concepts using multiple methods and offer encouragement
Comfortable giving direction and speaking in front of others
Minimum of one weekly commitment for at least 3 months. Availability for more than one afternoon a week is welcomed.
