Description:

YWCA Angeline’s Center for Homeless Women provides women experiencing homelessness a safe and welcoming environment. Angeline's prepares and serves hot meals daily. We are seeking volunteers to help with meal preparation, service, and clean up for the breakfast and lunch services. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least once weekly.

 

Requirements:

  • Weekday availability
  • A long-term commitment is requested (minimum 4 months)
  • Will be in a kitchen environment, appropriate dress and non slip shoes required
  • Cultural competency is a must
  • Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with homeless women and aware of common behaviors in a shelter environment
  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older 

 

Breakfast:

Volunteers will assist Kitchen Manager, prepare and serve breakfast, and clean-up after breakfast.

 

Lunch:

Volunteers will assist Kitchen Manager, prepare and serve breakfast, and clean-up after lunch.

 

Volunteers must pass a background check to participate in this opportunity.
