Opportunity Name:
Teen Volunteer Summer Program: Junior Lifeguards

Description:

Elevate your summer with the JUNIOR LIFEGUARDS Teen Volunteer Summer Program, supporting the Recreation Division's Aquatics programs! Dive into a dynamic and enjoyable volunteer experience, blending advanced training with a meaningful service opportunity.

Junior Lifeguards will assist Aquatics staff in swim lessons and pool events by making the pool a safe, fun, and friendly atmosphere.  In addition, Junior Lifeguards will have the opportunity to shadow lifeguards and become certified in CPR and First Aid certified upon successful completion of volunteer and curriculum hours (if the 15+ age requirement is met, they may be eligible to complete assessments that lead to our Rookie Camp).

This program is not only a great way to fulfill community service requirements, but it also provides teens with the opportunity to develop job skills. Such skills include public speaking, customer service, conflict resolution, leadership, adaptability, time management, team building and more.

Please note: The City of Mountain View cannot serve as a Certifying Organization for the The President's Volunteer Service Award.
