Description:

Are you a math whiz? Great at writing? A homework expert? Are you an Education Major looking for real-world experience? When you volunteer to tutor at the Boys & Girls Clubs, you help them prepare for a Great Future as an adult. Volunteers may assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks. They are working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom. Volunteers may use various teaching methods and develop individually structured teaching plans tailored to the pupil's needs and learning styles. They prepare and maintain equipment and resources and assist pupils in their use. All volunteers must be over the age of 18.

 

Wear appropriate clothing (no short shorts, belly shirts, or inappropriate language on clothing), and must wear closed-toed shoes (no sandals).

 

All Boys and Girls Club Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Packet and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations as directed under the program guidelines; you must complete an application, background check, interview, and a Safe From Harm Training before volunteering.

 

Volunteer Opportunity:

Title: Mentoring and Tutoring (All volunteers must be at least 18 yrs. old)

When: Monday – Friday 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM School Term

Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Summer Camp
