Description:

The Salvation Army is the only family shelter in Forsyth County. We provide needed care and supervision by offering programs and services promoting and enhancing the development of our children in the shelter.

 

When you volunteer to tutor, mentor or even read to our children you are preparing them for a great future. We are looking for volunteers with a passion for education, compassion and love for our children. Tutors, mentors and storytellers are needed to help children with homework, reading and improve computer skills. Storytellers are welcome just to sit with a young child and read to them.

 

Title: Tutor/Mentor/Storyteller

When: Monday - Thursday

Time:  6:00PM -7:00 PM/6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

 

All volunteers working with children must complete an application with background check, an interview, and Safe from Harm training prior to working with minors. Wear appropriate clothing (no short shorts, belly shirts or inappropriate language on clothing), and must wear closed toed shoes (no sandals).
