Youth Mentor

Urban Ventures Youth Mentorship Program 

 

Vision:

For every teenager to have a mentor that will help build and guide them, educationally, emotionally and spiritually.

 

Mentors will start building a relationship with adolescents through Youth Nights and One-on-Ones.

 

Youth Nights:

Group time where we gather the youth, mentors and volunteers together to have enrichment activities that'll consist of gym, tech, board games and artistic activities.

 

They'll include an icebreaker and small group time to go over the week’s curriculum. Once a month on Thursdays we will also go on field trips.

 

One-on-Ones:

Each mentor will have a weekly one-on-one virtually or in-person with their mentee(s). Time and place will be determined by the mentor. Mentors will rotate weekly with a different mentee.

 

During their one-on-ones, the mentor will focus on building a relationship with their mentee that will consist of discipleship, tutoring, and navigate any emotional stress.

 

After each one-on-one the mentor needs to report to a leader how long the one-on-one was and a brief breakdown of how it went.

 

Weekly Time Commitment:

Tuesdays 5:00 - 7:00pm (middle school students)

Thursdays 4:30 - 6:00pm (high school students)

 

Additional Commitment:

2 hours/week & once a month training

 

Additional Notes:

- Must complete volunteer application, child safety training, additional paperwork and a Background Check

- Must be over 20 years old
