Description:

Objective: To supplement and complement the work of the University of Maryland Rehab & Ortho Institute Food and Nutrition staff by assisting in the various roles in the kitchen, dining room and units. 

    

Duties may include: 
    Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
    Dishwashing. 
    Cleaning in dining room. 
    Stocking supplies. 
    Some food preparation.

Qualifications:
    
    Possess a positive, service-orientated attitude and compassion for patients.
    Be able to communicate clearly and follow directions.
    Be able to take the initiative and work independently.  

Responsibilities:

    To maintain confidentiality at all times.
    To work effectively with others. 
    To recognize and respect the needs of our patients and their families.
    To ask for help when needed. 
    To report any safety issues to supervisor/staff.
    To follow the policies and procedures outlined in the UM Rehab & Ortho Institute Volunteer Handbook.
