Sassafras All Children's Playground Park Ambassador


  


Project Description:

You're invited to make a difference at Laurel Hills Park. We are seeking interested individuals to serve as a Park Ambassador for the new Sassafras All Children's Playground. 

 

This year-long volunteer opportunity allows individuals to interact with the public and be the eyes and ears for the playground. The Sassafras All Children's Playground opened on November 5, 2016. This unique, one-of-a-kind playground sits on a 3.5 acre site and provides play experiences and fun for children of all abilities. Volunteer responsibilities would be a weekly commitment during the day on Saturday or Sunday and would include: 

  • Providing playground and park information to park patrons 
  • Keeping playground area free of trash debris 
  • Weeding landscape beds
  • Keeping sand play area clean and sand off of walkways
  • Reporting any issues of broken playground equipment/vandalism

 

In order to volunteer, you must be at least 18 years old and be available to volunteer once a week on Saturday or Sunday. Volunteers will be required to complete a volunteer application and background form. Once approved, you will meet on site with Volunteer Services staff to discuss volunteer expectations, responsibilities, and sign the volunteer agreement. 

 

Per department policies, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed community service hours
