Service Project Details

Elementary
Service Leader (adult): A Service Leader is one that directly assists the elementary pastor and his/her team in ensuring services run smoothly. They are all about creating a welcoming atmosphere, helping leaders engage with our kids, welcoming families, and making sure VC Kids is a fun and safe place to worship. These are the heroes willing to jump in at any moment and save the day!

Crew Leader (adult): A Crew Leader is one that serves to build relationship with our VC Kids and make the gospel message come to life. They do this by reiterating the lesson presented each week through engaging discussions, crafts, games, and more. They pray for kids, know them by name, get on their level, and build community. Mentoring, building relationships, and having fun … our Crew Leaders are the ultimate small group leaders!

Student Leader: A Student Leader is defined as under the age of 18 and graduated from VC Kids ministry. This young leader is eager and willing to use their gifts unto the Lord to serve others, and teachable to learn how. They serve alongside adult leaders to build relationships with our VC Kids, mature into responsible leaders, and have fun. They are truly the heartbeat of VC Kids ministry!

Volunteer Assistant (adult): To assist Crew Leaders during our Weekend Worship Experiences to make building relationships with children and guiding them in life-changing Bible learning fun and functional. If you are not able to commit to serving 2x a month and still desire to serve this is the role for you!

Set Up & Weekday Prep: Have time during the week? Then we have the perfect team for you. Weekday prep and set up teams help set the tone for weekend ministry. Homeschooling families, friends, and those with weekday time…we need you!

Frontline

Host Team: Greeters are the first friendly faces families see when approaching our
VC Kids Info Counter. They welcome, answer questions, and assist first-time guests with registration and check-in. This special team of volunteers will be trained in safety and security protocols as well as our church database. They are especially attentive to all the new kids coming to church because we know just how important that first visit is for families!

Deaf Ministry
ASL interpreter: An individual who is competent and fluent is American Sign Language willing to interpret for weekend services, classes and special events. This person will be interviewed to ensure accuracy.

Early Childhood
Service Leader (adult): A Service Leader is one that directly assists the early childhood pastor and his/her team in ensuring services run smoothly. They are all about creating a welcoming atmosphere, welcoming and directing families to their classrooms, assigning playground time, monitoring the hallways, and assisting Classroom Leaders as needed.

Classroom Leader (adult): A Classroom Leader plants the seed of God’s love and truth in the hearts of our very youngest and most impressionable. They are warm and welcoming, teaching them through a fun and interactive teaching, making the little ones feel safe and secure, and engaging with their parents.

Student Leader: A Student Leader is 12-18 years old and is eager and willing to use their gifts unto the Lord to serve others, and teachable to learn how. They serve alongside adult leaders, engaging with babies and/or preschoolers while assisting with the teaching of lessons and activities. They are role models for the kids they lead and truly the heartbeat of VC Kids ministry!

Special Kids and Adults

Sensory Break Room Classroom Leader: The Sensory Break Room (SBR) is space that offers a calmer and quieter environment for students ages 3-11. The SBR is staffed with knowledgeable and compassionate leaders who are committed to creating an environment where ALL kids can learn about the word of God. This space is offered during weekend services and offers personalized sensory activities and Biblical programming. Classroom Leaders stay in the sensory break room and facilitate a lesson and relevant activities.

Sensory Break Room Assistant: Assistants stay in the sensory break room to help the Classroom Leader in facilitating the lesson and relevant activities.

Buddy: A buddy is willing to serve one-on-one or one-on-two with a child who has special needs to support them in their typical classroom during weekend services. Training in the field is not required, just a tender heart for kids who need a fun friend in class!

Body Builders Classroom Leader: Our Body Builders class is a hybrid Sunday school class and small group geared towards teenagers and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. In this space we worship, pray, take communion, have a modified Bible lesson, and build community. This class meets at 9am on Sunday mornings at Westerville campus. Classroom Leaders serve our adult class and facilitate the lesson and relevant activities.

Body Builders Assistant: Assistants serve with our adult class and assist the Classroom Leader with the lesson and relevant activities.
