Project Description:

Volunteer Position Description: Volunteers help sort, pack, stock and distribute food to those in need.

 


  • Assists clients to fulfill their food vouchers
  • Assist with stocking/restocking food
  • Light lifting required
  • Works as a greeter/host of the food pantry

  • Ensures all clients check in before selecting food from the Mission Market
  • Assists with answering questions and providing direction as needed

Qualifications:


  •  A willingness to interact with people from all backgrounds
  • A heart for serving our neighbors in need who may be experiencing crisis
  • A nonjudgmental and service oriented positive attitude
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and lift intermittently 
  • Ability to work and move around in a small space

 

Schedule: This sign up is for Thursday Shift 8:45am - 2:00pm Shifts are available W and TH  8:45am - 2:00pm. We prefer volunteers stay for the entirety of the shift. Those shifts can be found on our Volunteer website.

 

Commitment Requirements: You may choose to sign up for shifts individually as your schedule permits. We prefer volunteers choose a weekly shift to commit to (i.e., every Tuesday). Only have an hour? Please feel free to stop by and help!

 

Age Restrictions: Available to volunteers ages 10 and older. Youth volunteers ages 10-17 are required to have a parent or legal guardian complete our Youth Liability Waiver prior to volunteering. Please note that volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or school chaperone in order to volunteer with us.

 

Dress Code: Closed toe shoes, appropriate clothing ( jeans are fine, but no short-shorts or spaghetti strap tank tops, or baggy clothes please).
