Description:

The Hackerman-Patz House is a "home away from home" for our patients and their families.  Our patients travel from within and outside of Maryland to receive care at our hospital.  Having family stay nearby can be comforting for our patients.

 

  • Operating office equipment: telephone, computer, fax and copier.
  • Assisting with clerical duties: filing, processing mail, etc.
  • Registering and greeting guests.
  • Light housekeeping.
  • Restocking kitchen area.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a positive, service-orientated attitude and compassion for patients.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and follow directions.
  • Be able to demonstrate initiative.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • To work effectively with others.
  • To recognize and respects the needs of our patients and their families.
  • To ask for help when needed.
  • To report any safety issues to supervisor/staff.
  • To follow the policies and procedures outlined in the UM Rehab & Ortho Volunteer Handbook.
