The Preservation Society of Newport County (PSNC) is committed to operating its volunteer programs and activities in a safe manner, and holds the safety of our volunteers in high regard. We strive to reduce risks and maintain a safe atmosphere. As such, we ask that all volunteers follow procedures and guidelines for safe operations. Volunteers recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to volunteer for any activity or program.
Volunteers will receive guidance and training for their respective positions. Each volunteer is responsible for determining if he or she is physically fit for the volunteer activity. The volunteer is responsible for informing the PSNC if they are unable to perform tasks or need assistance. It is strongly urged that all volunteers review their own health insurance policies for associated coverage.
Volunteers are not allowed to bring guests or family members who are not PSNC volunteers, to an assignment.
Hold Harmless / Waiver and Release
Volunteers assume the risk of injury inherent with their volunteer activity and volunteers agree to waive and release the PSNC from liability for injuries sustained while working as a volunteer. Volunteers expressly waive such claim for compensation or liability on the part of the PSNC beyond what may be offered freely by the representative of the PSNC in the event of such an injury or medical expense.
Photographic and Image Release
Volunteers may be photographed in the performance of their duties and give permission to the PSNC to use such photographs, images, or recordings for promotional or other reasons.
