Thank you for your interest in volunteering with North Thurston Public Schools!

All Volunteers

Please review the Volunteer Handbook and Code of Conduct on our website prior to volunteering for the first time.
All volunteers are subject to a criminal background check, as required by RCW 28A.404.303
You will set a new password for your volunteer account in your application. You will use your email address and this password to log in to the volunteer portal.
The last 4 digits of your phone number will be used to verify your identity when you sign in at a school.
You will receive recruitment emails for the schools you select on this application. You can update your selections on your profile any time.

NTPS Students

Your student application will be reviewed by the Principal of the school you attend.
If you are under 18, your electronic application must have your parent/guardian's e-signature, along with your own.

Volunteer Coaches

Discuss your plan to volunteer with the sport's head coach prior to applying.
Your application will be reviewed by the school's Athletic Director and sport's Head Coach.
If you have not completed the required WIAA training, please note in the appropriate field, and the school will help you arrange it.

Student Teachers

Please contact Human Resources for classroom observations, practicums, and student teaching placements.

I hereby authorize the North Thurston Public Schools to conduct a criminal history background check using the personal information provided on this form at the time of submission and every two years thereafter, unless I revoke authorization by notifying volunteersupport@nthurston.k12.wa.us.

I understand that I must disclose ALL past or pending criminal history offenses from any time or location, and that past offenses are not automatic grounds for disqualification. If offenses are discovered during a background check that are not disclosed, my volunteer application will be denied.

I have reviewed the NTPS Volunteer Code of Conduct and Volunteer Handbook and agree to follow its practices and policies. If I have concerns at any time during my volunteer activities, I agree to promptly contact a member of the school staff or Volunteer Services.

What's next?

After clicking Create Volunteer Profile below, you will be sent a Volunteer Profile Activation email. Please click the red link to confirm and activate your volunteer profile. While your application is pending, you will be able to see upcoming events right away, but will not yet be able to sign-up for them or sign-in at school.

You will receive a follow-up email within 2 weeks requesting additional information or notifying you that your volunteer application has been approved. Once approved, you will be given access to sign-up for events and sign-in to the school kiosks.

If you do not receive either communication from Volunteer Services within 2 weeks, please contact volunteersupport@nthurston.k12.wa.us
