Create Volunteer Profile

Thank you for your interest in becoming a YouthFriends volunteer to serve as mentors to students on a monthly basis. If your school is requesting you to be screened to attend a field trip, school activities, or out-of-town overnight events as a parent chaperone, do not proceed with the YouthFriends application. Please contact the Coordinator of Middle School Activities, Jason Fowler at jason.fowler@nkcschools.org as the screening procedures are different for these parent groups.

 

Upon receipt of your YouthFriends application, you will receive a "Welcome to YouthFriends" email with instructions and links to complete the application process. Applicants will view a training video, sign policy forms and must pass two required background screenings for criminal history and child abuse/neglect. We request you complete the process within 30 days.

 

Applicant's Agreement 

By completing this volunteer profile, I understand that any omissions or misstatements made by me may cause my application to be declined or my volunteer placement to be terminated. North Kansas City Schools may accept or decline my application without providing me any reasons for the decision. I understand I must view the training video and submit to a background check before working with district students.
