Children
Children under the age of 14 are not allowed on site, due to the safety precautions. Children ages 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Individual city leaders can make exceptions on a case by case basis.

Please let the Brighter Bites staff member on site know immediately if you are injured while volunteering.
Bag/Box Policy
Brighter Bites volunteers are sometimes parents of children in the Brighter Bites program, so they are allowed to take home their produce bags after volunteering. It is possible that volunteers associated with the school and community may be offered a set of complimentary produce bags. Volunteers who are not affiliated with the site or community, such as volunteers from another organization, corporation, or company, may not receive produce bags. ALL volunteers will receive a complementary Brighter Bites t-shirt in appreciation of their service!
Any person who receives produce from Brighter Bites is welcome to share with family, friends and neighbors, but they may not sell the produce or give it to someone who plans on selling it. Individuals who are found selling Brighter Bites produce may be subject to penalties, and may no longer be allowed to participate in the program (either as a participant or a volunteer).
How does Brighter Bites get the produce?
Most of the produce we receive is donated by farmers, distributors, and retail outlets to our partner food banks and suppliers across the country. Brighter Bites partners with food banks and other organizations to bring fresh produce to you and our families.
Other Guidelines:
- Be respectful of people and the site at all times.
- Always use adult restrooms at the site.
- Do not take photos of children at the site.
Media Release:
I give Brighter Bites consent to photograph me and any family members, and to use our name, story, pictures, and/or voice in any form for any and all uses related to Brighter Bites with no compensation. I release Brighter Bites from any and all claims for damages, invasion of privacy, or any other claim based on the use of this material. I agree to hold Brighter Bites harmless from any claim made by another relating to or coming from my participation in the program. I agree that I have no rights of ownership, whatsoever, in the photographs or materials discussed above.
WAIVER AND RELEASE: FORM RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In return for being allowed to participate in Brighter Bites volunteer activities and all related activities, including any activities incidental to such participation (“Volunteer Activities”), the undersigned Volunteer or Parent/Legal Guardian of Volunteer if Volunteer is under age 18 (hereafter referred to using “I”, “me”, or “my”) releases and agrees not to sue Brighter Bites or its officers, directors, employees, sub-contractors, sponsors, agents and affiliates (“the Foundation”) from all present and future claims that may be made by me, my family, estate, heirs, or assigns for property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death arising as a result of my participation in the Volunteer Activities wherever, whenever, or however the same may occur.
I understand and agree that Brighter Bites are not responsible for any injury or property damage arising out of the Volunteer Activities, even if caused by their ordinary negligence or otherwise.
I understand that participation in the Volunteer Activities involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, serious injury and death. I am voluntarily participating in the Volunteer Activities with knowledge of the danger involved and I agree to accept all risks of participation.
I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brighter Bites for all claims arising out of my participation in the Volunteer Activities.
I understand that this document is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the state in which the Volunteer Activities take place and agree that if any portion of this Agreement is invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect.
I also acknowledge that Brighter Bites have not arranged and do not carry any insurance of any kind for my benefit or that of Volunteer (if Volunteer is under 18), my parents, guardians, trustees, heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns. I represent that, to my knowledge, I am in good health and suffer no physical impairment that would or should prevent my participation in Volunteer Activities.
VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE WAIVER AND RELEASE FORM
PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED IF VOLUNTEER IS UNDER AGE 18.
I read, understand, and agree with all parts of the Brighter Bites Volunteer Policy and Waiver & Release. I also understand that this document is a contract, which grants certain rights to and eliminates the liability of Brighter Bites. I am of legal age and am freely signing this agreement. I have read this form and understand that by signing this form, I am giving up legal rights and remedies.
