Volunteer activities must follow all safety protocols, including those required by the City of Renton, L&I and King County Public Health, to help reduce risk to all volunteers, participants, and staff.

COVID GUIDELINES
By volunteering with the City of Renton, volunteers agree to follow all current and applicable county and state COVID guidelines and regulations.
If any volunteer has a recent COVID positive test or is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they are expected to follow isolation guidelines and masking requirements. If a volunteer becomes aware they have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask them to act in the interest of safety and
wear a well-fitting mask following public health guidance.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT; ASSUMPTION OF RISK; AND RELEASE
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, acknowledge that my service is voluntary in nature and I will NOT be eligible for any benefits or monetary compensation including, but not limited to, unemployment, wages, etc., for the work performed.
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, understand that the City of Renton is not responsible to provide me with financial or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability benefits, or insurance.
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, understand that the services I provide to the City of Renton may include activities that may be hazardous to me and may involve inherently dangerous activities. The City
cannot eliminate all risks, including potential exposure to COVID‐19 through my volunteer activities. I, as a volunteer or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, hereby expressly assume risk of injury or harm from
volunteer activities.
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, release and hold harmless the City of Renton, its elected officials, officers, agents, employees and other volunteers, from and against any and all claims, losses, or liability, or any portion of the same, including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees, legal expenses and litigation costs, arising from my volunteer service. I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, understand and acknowledge that this discharges the City from any liability or claim that I may have
against the City with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from any and all volunteer services in which I participate. This release expressly includes releasing
the City from any claim associated with any first aid treatment or other medical services rendered in connection with an emergency during or connected with my tenure as a volunteer with the City of Renton.
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, hereby give my PERMISSION to have photos/videos taken, without recompense, during my or my child’s volunteer activities and used for publicity purposes.
I, or parent on behalf of a minor volunteer, will abide by the guidelines as I have read and/or as they have been explained to me during the Volunteer Safety Orientation. Finally, I have read and understand the
“Guidelines for City of Renton Volunteers” and will fully comply.
By submitting this form, I agree, to the best of my knowledge, that the information is true and complete. I understand that falsification of this application is grounds for dismissal as a volunteer.
I understand and agree that submitting this application form does not automatically register me as a City of Renton volunteer. Please note that any entry into this application/database will constitute a public record upon submission to the City and may be subject to disclosure under the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56).
