Scheduling and Attendance
- We ask that you schedule your volunteer time in advance. This will ensure an appropriate number of volunteers are available for the specific project. Instructions on how to schedule your volunteering is attached.
- We ask that you arrive promptly for your assignment. Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes in advance of your start time. If you are unable to arrive at your scheduled time, please be sure to contact the Volunteer Coordinator. This will allow us to plan for your absence or contact other volunteers to fill in.
- You are required to sign in and out on the volunteer log(s) each time you volunteer.
Safety
- Wear appropriate clothing as specified for your work assignment. No tank tops please.
- Wear closed toe shoes (no sandals) when working anywhere in the warehouse or at pantries.
- Be attentive at all times, watching for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment used in the warehouse.
- Take all measures to adequately socially distance yourself from others.
- Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Rules and Regulations
- It is prohibited for you to use or remove any All Faiths Food Bank item or food product from the warehouse or offices for your personal use.
- Do not use any warehouse machinery or equipment unless you have been properly trained and certified.
- Do not shout, run, or participate in horseplay at All Faiths Food Bank or its offsite locations.
- If at any time your contact information should change, please notify your Volunteer Coordinator.
Confidentiality
All information and data about clients, agencies, volunteers, staff, and donors at All Faiths Food Bank are strictly confidential and may not be discussed with any unauthorized person.
Liability Release
As an All Faiths Food Bank volunteer, I will not engage in discrimination, harassment, hostility, or retaliation while at All Faiths Food Bank, while volunteering in any capacity, or in the provision of All Faith’s Food Bank activity, based on race, religion, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability, marital status, genetic information, status as a current or former uniformed services member, or any other protected classification, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. If I become aware that this type of activity is occurring to any person or entity, I agree to immediately report it to the Volunteer Coordinator so that immediate responsive corrective action can be taken by All Faiths Food Bank. I also understand that I am expected to treat the clients, volunteers, employees, general public, and anyone else I interact with related to All Faiths Food Bank in a respectful and professional manner. If any of rules or expectations outlined herein are violated, All Faiths Food Bank has the right to terminate my volunteer experience.
I am choosing to volunteer my time and services to All Faiths Food Bank and understand that doing carries a variety of risks to my person and personal property, some of which are described herein.
By volunteering, I acknowledge that I will be interacting with others in close proximity and handling different types of items in closed spaces. I understand that these close interactions and handling of items could expose me to pathogens and other harmful germs and viruses, that I could become sick from them, and that I could foreseeably suffer personal injury, sickness, or death, as a result of my exposure to them. Notwithstanding, I assume the risk that these threats pose and knowingly volunteer despite them.
Additionally, I recognize that my volunteer activity may entail bending, lifting, and/or carrying of heavy items, other activity involving physical exertion, or other activities that could cause injury or death. These activities could expose me to personal injury, could re-aggravate an existing injury, and could lead to death. I also recognize that I will be working in and around an active warehouse and as such I may be exposed to the hazards of this type of environment, including hazards related to individuals, heavy items, tools, vehicles, and machinery. While All Faiths Food Bank is always committed to safety, I accept and agree that I am ultimately responsible for my own safety and wellbeing while volunteering and assume all of the risks associated with volunteering.
While volunteering I further recognize that any personal property that I bring to All Faith’s Food Bank could become lost, damaged, or stolen. By bringing personal property to All Faith’s Food Bank, I assume the risk of these potential risks and losses.
I hereby agree to hold All Faiths Food Bank and its agents harmless from any past, present, and future claims, actions, demands, liability, rights, damages or losses, including those for personal injury, sickness, death, and any property damage, that I, my beneficiaries, administrators, executors or assigns had, have now or may have in the future in connection with my volunteer activities. I agree to hold All Faiths Food Bank and its agents harmless from any claim by any third party arising out of any inaccuracy or breach of any representations and warranties herein.
I declare that I am of legal age and I have every right to contract in my own name, or if under-age, my parent or legal guardian has signed below and accepts these conditions. I understand and agree: (1) that this release is binding and (2) this release constitutes an agreement between myself and All Faiths Food Bank and no waiver, modification, or addition to this release shall be valid unless in writing and signed by the parties.
I further hereby knowingly, freely, and voluntarily release, hold harmless, and absolve All Faiths Food Bank of Sarasota, Florida, and any related or affiliated agencies, organizations, employees, agents, board members, volunteers, contractors, and other associated individuals or entities of and from any and all liability whatsoever concerning my volunteering for, at, or related to All Faiths Food Bank.
Media Release
I consent to the photographing of my person and property and the use of my photograph, name, likeness, voice, and words (“Photographs”) and grant to All Faiths Food Bank and anyone authorized by All Faiths Food Bank permission to use, reproduce, display, broadcast, alter, modify, and/or copyright and renew all Photographs or likeness, taken by All Faiths Food Bank or provided to All Faiths Food Bank, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, use in advertising, promotional, public relations, educational and fundraising materials, all media, including, without limitation, in broadcast, cable, electronic and print media, without limitations or compensation (such use being defined herein as the “Use”). I agree that the All Faiths Food Bank shall own all rights and by volunteering, I waive any right to inspect or approve of my image use in any All Faiths Food Bank materials. I understand that I will not have any rights of ownership. I understand that my photograph and likeness will not necessarily be used by virtue of this agreement.
I hereby release and hold All Faiths Food Bank and any of its agents harmless from any past, present, and future claims, actions, demands, liability, rights, damages or losses that I, my beneficiaries, administrators, executors or assigns had, have now or may have in the future in connection with the Photographs or likeness and/or use, including without limitation, any actions for trademark or copyright infringement, violations of rights of publicity or privacy, or for blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or any use of the Photographs. I further release and hold All Faiths Food Bank and its agents harmless from any claim, suit, judgment, cause of action, fee, dispute, cost, or fee by any third party
arising out of any inaccuracy or breach of any representations and warranties whatsoever, including those contained herein.
I understand and agree: (1) that this release is binding and (2) this release constitutes an agreement between myself and All Faiths Food Bank and no waiver, modification or addition to this release shall be valid unless in writing and signed by the parties.
I declare that (1) I am of legal age and I have every right to contract in my own name, or if under-age, my parent or legal guardian has signed below and accepts these conditions; (2) I have every right to grant All Faiths Food Bank the use of my Photograph or likeness without violating other commitments; and (3) the appropriate release and/or authorizations have been obtained from any and every person shown in any photographs I have provided to All Faiths Food Bank.
Confidentiality Policy and Agreement
PURPOSE
All Faiths Food Bank (AFFB) is the custodian of confidential data supplied to it by clients, participants, volunteers, and donors. Staff, vendors, contractors, and others who have access to this data must be held to the highest standards of accountability for the preservation of confidentiality. This policy is not intended to prevent disclosure where disclosure is required by law.
DEFINITIONS
In the context of this policy, confidential information includes, but is not limited to, client and/or participant personal information; proprietary corporate information, including personnel, donor, and financial files; planning documents; and computer passwords and server access information. It is presumed that all information is considered confidential, unless otherwise clearly stated.
POLICY
It is the policy of All Faiths Food Bank that employees, contractors, and any individuals or organizations do not disclose, divulge, or make accessible confidential information under the control of AFFB.
PRACTICES
Those in possession or control of confidential information are expected to take every necessary measure to protect that information. At the end of an individual’s employment, the end of a contract, or the end of any relationship with AFFB, each individual or contractor shall return, upon request of AFFB, all documents, papers, other materials, digital files, or other media which may contain or be derived from confidential information.
ENFORCEMENT
In the event that a contractor, contractor’s employee or other person trusted with confidential information by All Faiths Food Bank is found to have abused that trust, All Faiths Food Bank may take whatever legal steps are necessary to recover or protect confidential information and may in addition, terminate the employee, abrogate contracts, or seek other legal remedy.
